Why I’ll Go Through With My TIME Magazine Interview

Two weeks from today, I’ll be participating in an interview for an upcoming gun-themed issue of TIME Magazine. Yes, that TIME Magazine.

Without revealing too much, so as to respect the wishes of reporters and to keep everyone in suspense, I’ll be adding my perspective to a greater project by sharing my story on why I am a gun owner in Virginia, why I got my concealed handgun permit here, and why the gun culture is grossly misrepresented. I’ll also discuss why my family history, which was largely marked by gun confiscation, made me into a gun rights advocate.

My story will be showcased alongside other stories, both pro-Second Amendment and pro-gun control, for this issue. In fact, I’ll be joined by several friends and people I respect in the hunting and firearms industries who will also add their perspective for this special edition issue of TIME.

An opportunity like this comes once in a lifetime, and I am grateful for such. You can see my full statement in defense of my participation here:

I’ll have more on my participation for this TIME Magazine issue here and across social media on  and after September 5th. Stay tuned!
