We are an international environmental nonprofit based in Texas dedicated to educating and inspiring actions for a more sustainable future. Gathering concerned citizens, educators, businesses, nonprofits, and global leaders at the world’s largest environmental forum, EarthX programs an exhibition, a film festival, and conferences.

The board is bipartisan, matched with some Democrat board members—so that should be interesting.

I’m a believer in free market environmentalism and clean coal/oil/gas. I’m also a believer in mixed-used of public lands and conservation, especially as an angler and new hunting. As someone who traverses public waters, I like a clean, pristine environment to fish from and admire. Nobody, my fellow conservatives included, want dirty air or dirty water. We want sound policies of the limited variety that don’t eat at business or add to bloated government.

My goal with this board is to see some anglers and hunters recognized for their contributions for the environment and conservation. Past attendees of the Dallas confab include the most recent Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke.

American Conservation Coalition is putting on the youth board. Here’s what it entails:

30 Under 30: The Green Generation is the first large-scale event in the country that highlights and recognizes young activists, business leaders, and innovative thinkers who are working to improve environmental outcomes. In partnership with the National Audubon Society, the American Conservation Coalition will host 30 Under 30: The Green Generation at EarthX 2019, the nation’s largest environmental event.

Individuals from all sectors and walks of life are making massive strides to protect our planet. There are countless bold, young environmentalists from the corporate, legislative, political, grassroots, and non-profit circles who are positively impacting our environment and working to confront future challenges. EarthX 30 Under 30 recognizes their contributions to protecting our shared future.

Protecting the environment is essential to all Americans, and we celebrate the passionate group of bipartisan, young environmentalists who lead the way. Award winners will be invited to a one-day event on April 27th, 2019 in Dallas, Texas and participate in panels and a dinner recognizing their achievements.

30 Under 30: The Green Generation is looking for environmental pioneers and trailblazers focused on issues including, but not limited to: ocean/water, wildlife, conservation, land management, clean energy, sustainability, and climate solutions. The environment is essential to all Americans, which makes highlighting a group of bipartisan, all-encompassing young environmental leaders so important.

Let me know if you want to nominate someone. You have until March 27th to nominate someone. They must be 30 at the time of the conference.

I want to take this topic nationwide to other campus Republican, conservative, and libertarian groups. Conservatives are conservationists, and it’s important they know what role hunting (and fishing) play in promoting conservation. To be a good steward of the environment and wildlife, you don’t have to support radical environmental or big government policies. I hope to deliver this similar message going forward.

As you all very well know, right-of-center politics doesn’t have the best representation in Silicon Valley. When former Google engineer James Damore unmasked bias happening at his former workplace back in August and got subsequently canned, this particularly came to light.

Enter Lincoln Network. Founded five years ago by Millennials Garrett Johnson and Aaron Ginn, this non-profit organization aims to bridge the gap between Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C. More specifically, the group hopes to be an avenue “where liberty and technology meet.” Here’s more of their mission statement from their website:

Lincoln Network brings together leaders from both worlds to converse, collaborate and effect change. While our vision is audacious, our mission is concrete and our value, measurable. We emphasize action.

Lincoln Network is starting to gain prominence in the public policy and technology realms. Back in August, CNN interviewed their co-founder about the difficulties center-right technologists face in Silicon Valley. Last week, they co-hosted a forum with FCC Chairman Ajit Pai. More recently, the Wall Street Journal profiled their efforts on how to attract more conservatives and libertarians to their respective industry.

A year after the election of President Donald Trump, Silicon Valley started to recognize the need to diversify ideological views.

Co-founder and executive director Garrett Johnson welcomed guests and proved to be a very gracious host.  He detailed LN’s plans for the coming year and their intention to make Republican offices more technologically responsive. Another LN staffer, Alex Kouts, presented on the organization’s successes over the last year—particularly with the launch of Lincoln Deployed, a network of technologists for hire by nonprofits, campaigns, and organizations who align with the organization’s goals. These experts, the website notes, helped build up some of the most renowned tech companies and institutions including Facebook, Google, Slack and Uber.  The website adds they are actively working on ” advancing liberty and freedom with their tech skills.”

The impression you get from interacting with LN’s staff and their surrogates is this: they are overtly friendly and extremely approachable—unlike what you hear about most individuals in Silicon Valley.

So not all is lost in Silicon Valley after all. Imagine that?

Today I unveiled my newsletter and announced I’m now a full-time media strategist.

I never expected to be self-employed, let alone my own boss, before the age of 30. To pursue this route at the ripe age of 25 will be a daring, bold, crazy, yet awesome. I look forward to undertaking this challenge and helping people find their voice. Lord knows conservatives and outdoor folks need help creating effective content strategy. And a little help will go a long way!

This isn’t uncommon. More Millennials, those currently aged 18-35, have an entrepreneurial spirit in spite of anti-free enterprise rhetoric emanating from government and pop culture today. As Fortune noted in February, more young people are discovering entrepreneurship sooner than their predecessors:

According to the findings, millennials are discovering entrepreneurship significantly earlier than boomers did. While the older generation launched their first businesses at roughly 35 years old, so-called “millennipreneurs”? are setting out around 27—which means some of them already have almost a decade of experience.

Moreover, freelancing is now defining the business landscape. Over 35% of the workforce comprises freelancers who’ve generated over a trillion in revenue this year alone. How fantastic is that?!

Though some Millennials only embrace an entrepreneurial mentality, let it be known that this Millennial boasts both the mindset AND lives the lifestyle.

What led me to pursue this path, you ask? Small business is in my DNA. My father owns his own construction business. My uncle owns his own appliance repair business. Since my family was deprived of business opportunities while living in the former Soviet Union, they set their sights to create them here in the United States. Small business has defined this country and made it great. In spite of big government and big business, it is still possible to launch your own business in America today. There just have to be fewer roadblocks and burdens placed on people so they can unleash their full human potential. Free enterprise is the best antidote to statism, cronyism, and big government. I’m excited to do my part to bolster it and provide services that benefit and help people.
