Heartland Institute: Emerging Issues Forum
Heartland Institute was in need of a social media expert for their Emerging Issues Forum (EIF) in August 2016. A friend of mine and former employee for the organization successfully pitched me to them in February 2016 and arranged for me to address their EIF summit in Chicago, IL six months later. Heartland–which is one of the preeminent free market organizations in America–hosts the exclusive training for liberty-minded state lawmakers several times a year.

The strategy: Craft and present a social media lecture for best practices and strategic use geared towards liberty-minded state lawmakers.
My lecture “The Utility of Social Media for State Lawmakers” touched upon the following:
- Dispensing tips for social media best practices for state lawmakers
- How to effectively promote limited government ideas across social media
- Giving tips on how to best utilize Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram on a budget
- Participating in Q& A

As a result of my participation in this conference, over 50 state lawmakers from across the country learned about the latest social media updates and strategies to take back to their districts.
