As 2019 winds down and a new decade sets in, I wanted to briefly reflect on some professional highlights and accomplishments from the past year.
Freelance media consulting and writing may be a lot to juggle, but I love every minute of it. It keeps me centered and focused. I met amazing people along the way and have grown from every experience. Without a doubt, being a business owner is a humbling experience. And the fruits of my labor have exceedingly paid off this year—with 2019 being my third year as a business owner.
Here are some highlights from my freelancing endeavors from the last 12 months.
CONSULTING

- Doubled income from 2017-2018 cycle; projected to double income by next year
- Signed on and retained several long-term clients (3+ months) for the first time
- Secured and attended client meetings at a U.S. Department
- Secured and attended a dozen Capitol Hill meetings for coalition building purposes on behalf of a client
- Filmed and packaged a video on behalf of a client that was broadcasted/shown on Fox & Friends
- Worked with my first fly fishing and hunting lodge for a ladies media event (case study coming soon!)
- Produced and hosted my first original video series with a free market environmentalist non-profit
- Spoke on a panel about on how hunting promotes conservation at The Ohio State University
