Imagine living in a socialist nation where fishing opportunities were scarce, gun rights were nonexistent, freedom wasn’t within reach, and the government gets away with pollution while blaming private enterprise for their sins.
That is the childhood my father, Boris Hoffman, had growing up in Soviet-occupied Lithuania. Since moving to the U.S., my father has honed his fishing craft, bought his first gun, and has charted his hunting course in his 60’s.
Up at District of Conservation today, my dad drops by to discuss why he prefers America over the Soviet Union when it comes to conservation, fishing, and hunting.
In Episode 24 of District of Conservation, I interview Boris Hoffman— a general contractor and avid angler. Boris also happens to be my dad.
