5 Social Media Marketing Blogs Conservatives Should Be Following

Every Saturday, I’ll be bringing you a weekly #SocialMediaSaturday post. I skipped out last week since I was at a baseball game, but I promise not to interrupt this series much.

I wrote about Instagram Stories in my first post for the series. Today, I’ll be profiling the five best social media marketing blogs conservative and libertarians should be bookmarking to up their social media marketing strategy game.

These five blogs are perhaps my go-to blogs for the latest updates on new media, platforms, or updates to already existing social media options:

HubSpot

Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, HubSpot was one of the first marketing blogs I familiarized myself with a little over two years ago. I bookmarked their Marketing blog and receive daily updates from them. (It’s definitely worth signing up for.) The website not only disseminates great information for marketers, it offers boundless programs for working digital and traditional media professionals. They also host free informative webinars and chats on a regular basis. Here’s something that makes them stand out: they host an INBOUND conference in Boston every year. Celebrities and other professional marketers attend this one-of-a-kind event to talk about the importance of PR and marketing. (It’s a shame conservatives don’t attend this event, so we must change that.) It’s definitely an event I plan to attend in the future!

Hootsuite

This Vancouver, British Columbia-based company offers a great dashboard for social media marketers AND an informative blog. (Unlike other social media marketing platforms, Hootsuite offers a basic account FREE of charge for users who wish to monitor three accounts.) Moreover, they host semi-regular helpful Twitter chats and webinars. Definitely follow these blogs to polish your social media strategy!

I’ve been using Hootsuite’s Dashboard for a client I’m working with and so far, it’s producing excellent results. It allows you to create streams, monitor followers, trending topics, and schedule posts ahead of time. The only drawback I’ve witnessed is scheduling embedded links with photos on Facebook; so it’s best to use a Facebook pages Schedule option. Nevertheless, consider using this dashboard to effectively manage your content across all social streams.

Social Media Examiner

The San Diego, CA-based Social Media Examiner puts all the latest digital news into layman’s terms and circulates all updates on their blog. This is perhaps the easiest website to track as it recycles all the latest news from the digital sphere. They also offer great, free, informative webinars that can be enjoyed by social media users of all experience levels. Bonus: they host an annual spring conference in my beloved college town, San Diego. Subscribe to get their updates in your Inbox.

Digiday

I was introduced to Digiday earlier this year by some PR pros in the conservative movement. It’s perhaps the BEST blog to received straight into your Inbox. It’s always on the cusp of breaking all social media and digital news, so you don’t want to miss out. Subscribe to their email. You won’t regret getting their posts daily in your Inbox! Plus, they appear to host great regional conferences across the country. One drawback: it’s catered to seasoned marketers, but can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of expertise level.

Mashable

You may already follow Mashable, but if you aren’t already following their social media blog REMEDY THIS. Stat. This blog circulates a lot of what you see on Social Media Examiner or Digiday, but it doesn’t hurt to add it to your Bookmarks tab. Be warned: Mashable is notorious for clickbait, but don’t let that small tactic deter you from following them. They have amassed a HUGE following over the years for their creative, sharp content.

There are other marketing blogs out there like Sprout Social that are resourceful, but I wanted to focus on the five best blogs I think many of you will enjoy and follow. I read these five blogs in some form or fashion and learn something new every day!
